THE 28TH AMENDMENT

LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUALITY REFORM

What is it?

The U.S. Constitution needs amending to address the structural inequities that are endemic in the Criminal Justice system. The XXVIII Amendment is for America and the promise of a “more perfect union.” It is also for those who were not considered citizens when the Constitution was ratified on 21 June 1788. Finally, you have a seat at the negotiating table of liberty.

You’re either at the table or on the menu.

Why an Amendment?

01.

The primary issues and challenges with policing are not institutional they are structural and malignant

02.

Congress has limited authority on policing policy due to federalism and separation of powers

03.

The amendment would provide oversight and accountability in the nations highest legal document

04.

We are not in favour of disbanding the police and believe the amendment is a compromise position

05.

Legislation being proposed by Congress does not go far enough to bring the needed reforms
